Tharpu Chuli/Tent peak climbing

Trip Description:

Tharpu Chuli or Tent Peak is one of the trekking peaks in the Nepali Himalaya range. The peak has a nice central position in the Annapurna range. It is easier to climb than both Hiunchuli and Singu Chuli which also are trekking peaks of the Annapurna.

Situated at the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, Tharpu Chuli also known as Tent Peak is an attractive mountain that forms part of the ridge line, standing south of Glacier Dome. The ridge also includes Singu Chuli and acts as a central divider between the semicircles of peaks enclosing the Sanctuary. Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak) offers an interesting climb and a spectacular view of the Annapurna range. The peak was nicknamed ‘Tent Peak’ by Jimmy Roberts in 1956. The normal route follows the North-West Ridge to the summit although the mountain has been climbed via the South-East Ridge as well as South-West Face.

Our trekking route pass through terraced farmland and menders around the rhododendron forest and Modi Khola crossing the amid ethic settlement. We climb up both Machapuchare and Annapurna base camp before we set up our tented camp for the Tharpu Chuli expedition climb. The views from the Tent peak summit are arguably one of the best Himalayan scenery.  The wild and stunning Annapurna sanctuary offer the spectacular panorama of many 7000 and 8000 meter Himalayan genetic peaks including the Annapurna I, III and south, Hiunchuli, Baraha Shikhar, Khangshar Kang, Tarke Kang etc.
